Swatch MTV Playground

The Nicolas G Hayek Center in Ginza was packed with art enthusiasts and associated media to be part of the Swatch MTV Playground community.

The tantalizing beats inspired the four contestants from Vantan Design Institute battled it out on blank canvases to show us how they envisioned “TRAVELLING IN TIME” – the contest theme! The panel of judges consisted of Ogata Yoshimi san from Swatch Japan, Alan Swart from MTV Japan and special guest judges, TENKI san, known for their creation of fashion and art in their unique ways.

The four contestants were decorating their canvases right until MTV VJ Chris announced that time was up! The panel of judges, the media attendees, and the general audience were extremely impressed with the diverse creativity of the contestants.

The winner of the battle was Masaya Eiraku – his creation tied in perfectly with the colours and branding of Swatch MTV Playground – stylistic, playful and colourful!

Visitors to the Nicolas G Hayek Center were also given an opportunity to experience the Swatch MTV Playground booth where they could browse through a selection of artwork from the various categories. To add to this, they could create their very own unique art show with mood-enhancing lights.
